Dr. Rick McGuckin has been in private practice since 1985. For the past 28 years he has successfully counseled adults and adolescents and helped them to put their lives back in balance. Dr. McGuckin completed his internship at Charter Grove Hospital in Corona Ca. During his internship, he was the clinical director for the Christian Adolescent Program. Dr. McGuckin has also worked closely with adults and teens who struggle with depression and anxiety disorders. In the past he has also had extensive experience with Managed Care. At one time he was the CEO of a group who specialized in the management of psych benefits. On staff were 55 psychologists and 25 psychiatrists serving a population of 150,000 patients.
In the past five years Dr. McGuckin has specialized in working with men and women who struggle with alcoholism and substance addiction. Most of his work has been with individuals who are in in-patient rehab facilities. His desire to work with adolescents and their parent’s comes from firsthand experience of how and when the disease started and the toll the disease can have on a family. Some 90% of all individuals who are in in-patient facilities started using in their teens, some younger. Dr. McGuckin believes that it is through identification, support and education that we can turn around this trend in adolescent addiction and put our children on a new path.
Julie Davis is the founder and owner of JD and Company. She is an accountant specializing in both profit and non-profit organizations – as well as in providing accounting services, bookkeeping services and tax preparation for small businesses.
Julie received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting from Cal State University Fullerton in 1985. She worked in public accounting for a medium sized firm in Newport Beach which was later acquired by Deloitte. She earned her CPA license in 1989 and has continued to work in small business or non-profit accounting for the last 25 years. She started JD and Company in Orange County, California in 2004.
She enjoys helping new businesses as they enter the marketplace and working alongside business owners to navigate the challenges of the highly regulated State of California. She is a member of the California Society of CPA’s, the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Yorba Linda.
In addition to her professional work, she is very active in her church that her husband co-pastors, The Well, in Yorba Linda. She teaches the Sunday School children and helps with the monthly service projects. This is a church that God had them plant about 5 years ago in a coffee house and has grown to have its own meeting space.
Jim Sando has 20 years’ experience in working in the non-profit environment. Jim served as Executive Director of a multi-faceted non-profit company that generated $40M in annual revenue and employed a staff of over 600. He has served for six years as the Chairman of the Board of an affordable housing non-profit corporation. In addition, he has served on the Boards of Directors of Friends Development Corporation and the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce. Jim’s past experience includes starting numerous retail organizations, including fast food and Starbucks franchises, a publishing company, and managing such diverse operations as a television station and a wildlife sanctuary. In addition to his non-profit experience, Jim has served as a division director of a $1B financial services company. Jim has been active in church activities, most particularly in men’s ministry functions. Jim resides in Brea with his wife, Sally.
